The atomic and physical properties of elemental mercury are covered. Data on the isotopes of mercury, melting point, boiling point, triple point, vapor pressure, heat capacity, density, surface tension, viscosity, thermal expansion, diffusion, electrical and superconducting properties are included. Critical point phenomena are also discussed. Other properties including emissivity and the excited-state properties of metallic mercury are presented. The crystal structure of mercury and its pressure–temperature phase diagram are discussed.
